APPLICATIONS
They will be reviewed every weekend. ☺ Before applying, make sure you have read the rules and the FAQ. ☺ Make sure to check the taken and reservations pages. ☺ Please post your applications within the comments themselves; do not post links. ☺ Put your character's name, canon, and reserved/unreserved in the subject line. ☺ Applications will remain visible unless you request we screen them after review. ☺ The mod plurk is Application Player Name: However you would like to be referred to in the game. Personal Journal: If you don't have one/don't wish to use one, a sockpuppet is fine. Age: To confirm you are 16 or older. If you are caught lying about your age to play you will be banned. Contact Info: Plurk, AIM, MSN, any method you wish to use so players can contact you. Other Characters: Any other characters you currently play in the game, if applicable. Character Name: Your character's name. Canon: The series your character is from. Specify the specific version if there are different ones. Age: Make sure to inform us if there is a difference between physical and mental age (a 1000-year-old little girl, for example). Suitability: If your character is mentally under twelve years old, please explain why you believe they are suitable for this game. You may skip/remove this section if this does not apply. History: Links to Wikipedia or similar are acceptable for this section. If you can't find a good link, you may write out this section; in general, we would like to get an idea of the world your character is coming from and the situations they have been in. Please make sure to note the canon point you are taking your character from. Reason for Playing: Why has your character signed up for the game? If a non-canon tragedy has occurred causing them to sign up please explain it here. Personality: This is one of the two most important sections of the application. We would like to see at least three to four paragraphs on your character. Make sure to describe the character as fully as possible; we want to make sure you have a firm grasp on the character. We would like to see that you know how the character behaves in a range of situations. We would also like to see that you know how your character works--this is not a history section, so we would like more than just a summary of what your character has done in canon. We want to see the motivations and thoughts that go into making your character what they are. Abilities: This is the place to list anything your character can do that your average human cannot. Sample: This is the second of the two most important sections of the application. We would like to see at least one of the following: ☺ A written-out post as if your character is already in the game and interacting with the setting. This can be a first-person post as if to the network, a bracketed action post, or a combination of the two. This section tells us how you will play your character in the game, so make sure this part really shines! We discourage using introduction-style samples, as this often doesn't give a good view onto how your character will act day-to-day. We want to know your voice for this character is strong and consistent; if you would like to provide multiple samples/links to samples, that's fine too. Original Character Application The following sections have been added/altered for the original character application. Anything not mentioned is the same as the fandom character application. World Description: This is one of two sections that replaces the history section of the application. We would like you to describe your character's world. You don't need to include everything, but make sure to cover anything relevant to your character and your character's culture that makes them who they are. Character Background: This section includes anything your character has done. A few paragraphs are fine; we don't need a list of everything they've done, but make sure to include everything important. Personality: Make sure you are more detailed here than you might be with a fandom character; as we do not have any canon source to compare your character to, this section becomes even more important for gaining a good amount of knowledge on your character. Samples: The samples work the same as the fandom application, but we would like two minimum. The reason for this is to prove that you can be consistent in your characterization, as we do not have canon to compare your application with. |
